MIRRODINE SUSPENDED TWITCHBAIT FISHING LURE REVIEW
Length – 2.5 & 3 inches
Weight – 1/4 & 3/8 oz
Manufacturer - MirrOlure
Full Lure Name - L & S MirrOdine Suspending Twitch bait
Rating (1 to 10, 10 being best) - 8
Type - Suspended Twitch bait
Depth – 0 to 24 inches
Colors and patterns – 9 that I know of.
Fishing for – Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Seatrout, Ladyfish, and just about anything else that eats baitfish. This fishing lure is also great for freshwater fishing.
Setup – When using braided line you should always use a leader of either monofilament or fluorocarbon. Tie the lure to the leader with a loop type knot and the leader directly to the line. Do not use swivels, because it will change the way the lure performs and possibly spook the fish. When not using braided line, you can tie directly to the lure, but still use a loop knot.
Where to use these lures – This lure works great any place the water is deep enough. Be careful around structure like mangroves and oyster beds, the treble hooks snag easily on any and everything.
Technique – Speed of retrieval will determine the depth that the lure will travel in. Giving twitches will make the lure move right and left, giving a wounded bait movement.
Angler ability – This is a fairly easy lure to use.
Additions – Maybe stronger hooks and rings, but I have not really had many problems with them.
Notes from Randy - I have found that this is one of the few lures that I can use almost anywhere and anytime. You may have noticed that some lures may work great in the Passes and the Beaches, yet they do not work at all in the backwaters; while others work great in the Rivers and Backwaters, but nothing will even give it a look when you go back out into open water. This lure seems to have the ability to fool fish no matter where you are. No, it’s not always going to be the best lure to use, but it does seem to always produce some fish. Remember to always try to match the color of the baitfish in the area at the time.
